This drawing set explores Kenzo Tange’s Shizuoka Press Broadcasting Center in Tokyo, Japan. A unique highway condition wraps around half of the structure, creating an ever-moving vantage point -possessing dynamic visual perception by vehicle, air, and ground level. Dashed lines branch out from the central core, the heart of the building. The direction of each ray is determined by the columns that comprise the core structure. These lines inevitably collide with the walls; those moments are notated with points and angles. A subsequent drawing study explores site movement from a worm-eye view through a frame-by-frame animation.
